NBA meets Charlottenburg
The Orlando Magic made the redesign of the courts at Lietzenseepark possible. They opened on 25 August 2026 — with Berlin Dreams, the district, and guests from Florida.

A big shot for basketball in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf: the Orlando Magic — Franz Wagner’s NBA team — funded the redesign of the two courts at Lietzenseepark. Together with Berlin Dreams DBV Charlottenburg e. V. and the district, the result is a court that wears both clubs’ colours.
The opening was part of the Orlando Magic Germany Summer Tour 2026. On site: Magic staff, mascot STUFF, Berlin Dreams, sponsors and partners. District councillor Oliver Schruoffeneger gave the welcome, a DJ played. The courts opened with a ribbon cut and the first shot.
From 17:30 to 18:30, kids and teenagers aged 10 to 14 trained to the NBA Basketball School playbook — with experienced coaches, right in the neighbourhood.
The new hoops came from smb Seilspielgeräte GmbH Berlin. Jonas and Felix painted both floors: navy, cream, gold — Magic and Dreams, by hand on the asphalt.

Around the Women’s Basketball World Cup, a pop-up court also landed at Breitscheidplatz — through 30 September, free, with workshops and tournaments. The courts at Lietzenseepark stay: two floors for the neighbourhood, in the colours of Magic and Dreams.
